We felt it all the way in Boston. As far as VA/DC, people I've checked with say everything is okay. Generally speaking, the more distant you are able to feel it, the less dangerous it is near the epicenter. The fact that we felt it several hundred miles away is a good thing as far as danger goes.

I'm in Silver Spring, Md. It was scary for a minute there. But everything's pretty much okay.

Well glad to hear. We shook pretty well up here and imagine even moreso in DC. Just not used to that here. Odd thing is felt like it continued to get stronger in waves. Hopefully done with that for another 100 years

To get back to the subject of the thread, New York City is for busybodies and San Diego is for people who love to relax.

NYC.

I've been to San Diego and don't have any desire to ever go back again. So boring.

But I definitely would not say that the weather is inherently superior to New York's.
Not ever community is near the coastline. There are some dicey areas just south of the city. everybody that flies in SD sees the downtown areas and expensive cities along the coast.

Yes, but most people prefer nearly always sunny, warm weather to inches of snow and bitter cold for months on end. Plus, San Diego does get that fog and a bit cool, so the weather is not as "boring" as you think.
