Did you not understand the question?
Most expensive or best looking house you have ever seen? What is the most expensive house or condo in your city?

If you looked at the OP, he/she posts homes that aren't even in his/her town.
Plus, the also title says "Most expensive or best looking house you have ever seen" and I highly doubt the most expensive &/or best looking homes aren't all within everyone's "town" or "city.
If anything, the title doesn't say "Nit-pick and criticize people posts", so on that not your not sticking to the topic. You've actually haven't done ABSOLUTELY ANYTHING to contribute to this thread, so what makes you such an expert on this whole ordeal?

I don't live in LA, but here is the most expensive stand-alone house in the entire USA:

Got $150 mil? America's most expensive home is for sale

I live in a suburb of Seattle. In the Seattle area, there are plenty of really nice looking homes on Mercer Island, along the waterfront on all sides of Lake Washington, and looking out to the Straits of Juan de Fuca.

Focusing on Seattle alone, the most expensive house is a condo on the penthouse floor of a prestigious downtown building overlooking the entire Puget Sound. Asking $15,000,000. 1012 1st Ave # 3500, Seattle, WA 98104 MLS# 28151068 - Zillow

In my suburb, Mercer Island, the most expensive house is an impressive mansion overlooking Lake Washington, on the Eastern shore. It has a negative-edge pool, multiple wine rooms, a Chihuly glass sculpture for an entrance chandelier, and many great views. Oh, and it has a dry dock for your yacht. Asking: $32,000,000. Boulevard Pl, Mercer Island, WA 98040 MLS# 29047885 - Zillow

That house is the most expensive house in all of the Pacific Northwest (Washington, Idaho, Oregon, N. California), excluding land for sale. There's plots of land for more that could be the basis for entire cities!

Talking about the future ... I imagine when it comes time for Bill Gates to move on, his house in Medina, WA will fetch a big price. However, I do not see that happening, as Bill has bought out all his neighbors in the houses surrounding his house to make his own private community. Family and private workers, like security, live in the areas around his house.

Some very valuable Bay Area properties that I really like.

Novelist Danielle Steele's house(called Spreckels Mansion) in Pacific Heights is worth over $100 Million

Oracle Founder Larry Ellison's house in Woodside is worth approx $200 Million

Filoli in Woodside is also worth around $200 Million

Some of you might remember Filoli from the 1980s ABC show Dynasty.

Im pretty sure Carolands in Hillsborough is also worth over $100 Million

As far as my hometown of Oakland, California-Im sure this is the most expensive house in the Town.

Its been spotlighted in the NY Times and Id guess its worth at around 50 Million Dollars. It is huge and the views are to die for.

All the homes you listed are worth under 50 million, at least in 2007 dollars. But ... holy shnikes ... all really NICE homes. I like Ellison's house the best ... it seems less ostentatious somehow.

By the way, here's a listing of all the most expensive homes in the world. The most expensive: a 27 story masterpiece in Mumbai, India. Number two is a mansion built in 1902 on the French Riviera.

Ellison's estate is worth under 50mil? Has something of a compulsive obsession with feudal Japanese architecture, the Oracle does.

Donald Trump has a couple houses in South Florida I believe, here's the one he sold for 100 million located in Palm Beach, FL:

The backyard is pretty unique, it's elevated so it makes the house look like it's only one level

If you look from this angle and to the right side of the house you can see what I mean.

I don't really know if I like it to be honest...the whole elevated backyard thing is kinda weird.
