I was always wondering which US State has the highest AND the lowest percentage of people who've travelled or lived abroad? When I mean abroad I mean outside of the US, Canada, Mexico, Central America and the Carribbean - places where Americans ALWAYS needed a passport to visit... I know the US has had a low rate of people travelling outside as compared to other Industrialized societies but I'm sure there has to be significant variations within the country.

Not really sure, but of the American tourists I've seen, an awful lot seem to have come from somewhere in the Midwest, like Illinois and Wisconsin. Quite a few from Colorado too.
