I gotta keep setting the facts straight for this chump Spade here. You all have won the NFC East 2 of the past 4 years, but what has that accomplished? You slam us for not winning an NFC East title since 1999, but really who cares about NFC East championships? Any team can win a division, the real task is trying to win a SuperBowl, which last time I checked, your team is nowhere near accomplishing. Your team is good for maybe a playoff appearance this year, but after that, what would you really accomplish? NY Giants fans would laugh their asses of at your dumb little statement about NFC East championships. They would probably laugh at your team harder since they beat your team in the playoffs back in 2007 on their way to a SuperBowl victory. Guess who won the NFC East that year? That's right your overrated team. LOL @ losing with home-field advantage. That's a loser team for ya. It takes a loser who probably is a bandwagon fan judging by your last post to root for a team like that. I really hope your team actually has aspirations of a SuperBowl victory this year since the SuperBowl is in Dallas. I bet not making it to the SuperBowl would be yet another embarrassment for ya boy Jerry. You know what, screw it, I hope you all make it to the NFC championship game this year, and you all have home-field for that game. If you all lose that game, that would be one of the funniest, most awesome things to happen to the Cowboys since you all lost 44-6 to the Eagles.

Meadowlands Stadium hasn't even been around long and already has played one of the World Cup Soccer Tournament and has been stamped for the 2014 SuperBowl. We didn't need a retractable roof for The SuperBowl and The World Cup. The atmosphere is just that good. Cowboys Stadium does have to have a roof to get those big events and more. The Real proof that Meadowlands Stadium is better than Cowboys Stadium. Football just isn't Football without the icey cold weather conditions. We call it Real Football Wether.

the meadowlands was awarded the super bowl because of its location in the nyc market, not because the stadium itself is necessarily superior to the new cowboys stadium. whether or not the meadowlands is a better facility is subjective, but that certainly wasn't the deciding factor.

getting the super bowl only proves that the nfl really wanted the super bowl in the nyc market, even if it meant circumventing its traditional rules that the game must be played in a warm weather city or domed stadium.

and the new meadowlands stadium has not hosted any world cup games - the most recent world cup was held in south africa, as you'll recall.

when the u.s. hosted the world cup back in 1994, both dallas and the nyc area hosted world cup games (at the cotton bowl and original giants stadium, respectively).

now, if the u.s. wins the bid to host the world cup in 2018 or 2022, the new meadowlands stadium will surely be one of the host stadiums, but nothing's set in stone as of yet. then again, the new cowboys stadium would almost certainly host some world cup games as well.

Location is not always the deciding factor in the decision to host a SuperBowl. The big game has been hosted in Florida for many years and it's also been hosted in other dome stadium places like Arizona, New Orleans, Atlanta, and Minnesota. Those are just not big market cities. GIANTS stadium has always been a legitamatly solid stadium for years and has never come close to hosting a SuperBowl. Granted - Paul Tagilibu was the head of the NFL and never wanted to host in cold wether cities with open air stadiums, But let's face it - It was long overdue in any case. Dallas is not a big Market City in comparison to New York, But they have a SuperBowl coming their way. If both New York and Dallas were bidding for the rights to host a SuperBowl in the same year - New York wins out instantly with the Meadowlands Stadium, But they would not likely win over Dallas with GIANTS stadium since it looks so pale in comarison to Cowboys Stadium.

you're missing the point.

the league decided to use different criteria for awarding the super bowl to the nyc area compared with other cities/venues, which either need to be in a mild-to-warm winter climate or in a domed stadium. for nyc/nj, having a brand new stadium in the nyc market was enough to get the bid as a one-time exception.

in other words, the new meadowlands stadium was awarded the super bowl, despite being in a cold weather climate, simply because the nfl wanted to stage the game in the nyc area - and having a new stadium was the perfect excuse to make it happen. this would not have happened in any other market - other than the nyc area, the stadium needs to be domed or in a temperate winter climate.

the reason why the nyc region was never considered for previous super bowls (besides the fact that the nfl has a longstanding policy against holding the game in cold weather climates) is because giants stadium was a blander, aging facility. even if the nfl ever considered putting the game in original giants stadium as a one-time exception, the lackluster appearance of GS would've dissuaded them quickly.

it's not about whether the meadowlands facility is better or worse than the new cowboys stadium - the location was the ultimate deciding factor in this case.

As a football purest I love homefield advantage up to and including the Conferance championships, beyond that i believe the better weather/domes provide the best environment to host the superbowl. This will be an interesting experiment but i do hope this is the exception and not the rule. Last year the weather for the super bowl in the NE was actually ok, a week earlier or a week later, ugh

You should alleviate your frustration like most Philly fans do............... Get ridiculously drunk, stumble around, curse a lot, make a spectacle of yourself & then punch the closest breathing human being you can find.
