Yes, its even in Richmond. But the culture hasn't been diluted. Yet, anyway.
That's why I say Virgina starts losing the southern vibe once you get through Richmond. I'd tie in Charlottesville with NoVA before I call it southern.

Am I the only one who thinks Charlottesville is a little different mainly because of the college there?...I guess so, but I just think that if there wasnt such a huge University there, the Southern vibe wouldnt be quite as diluted

I don't think so because I've actually been to the city plenty of times and the people there are different from southerners. Their accents and behavior are different.

I never said the influence didn't fade, I meant the southernness doesn't fade.

And I've been here all my life too man. Never been north of the Mason-Dixon line and proud of it.

That's EXACTLY what I was about to type. Charlottesville is a college town and is very liberal like most college towns. But if you travel around the outer areas of Charlottesville, you are instantly right back in the South.

So what is it then? I can assure you that it's not Northern.

Some say Mid-Atlantic, but then others also include PA, NY, & NJ with the Mid-Atlantic, which I don't agree with.
