Battle of the decentralized metros. I choose DC due to its walkability, urbanity, and better transit system. Weather is better in LA, the city is much larger, and nightlife seems more exciting, but Id prefer DC.

If nice weather all year round was not a factor, then DC is an easy decision.

More like battle of the most narcissistic metropolitan areas!

Hrrm... unless going into politics, or connections to other east coast cities, not quite sure why someone would choose DC over L.A. ...

The Western political scene is centered in L.A.

I could live in either city, but Los Angeles would be my first choice.
