Thought I knew, but now I have no idea. Never really liked any area I've been in, which is bad and good I guess. Narrows down what I want.

In my opinion, there's nothing like the beauty & climate of the NW!
It's inspiring to see your location set as the Bay Area. You made it!

No question I would live in Kailua which is on the Windward Coast of Oahu, Hawaii! It’s a gorgeous community on one of the best beaches in the world and about 30 minutes from downtown Honolulu.

My only real thoughts on this thread are... just imagine what would happen to some of the more popular answers like Kauai and PNW if money and circumstances were no object.

As far as the most desirable places people visit and then want to move to.... places like Kauai become degraded as soon you set foot there. The last thing those places need is another person.

I moved to West Virginia and so far like it as much or more as anywhere I have lived in the USA.

It depends on your age......young,under30 head for the big city...pick a place that complements your line of work........then after 20 years or so, move to the place you really want to retire to.

I'd get a badazz RV, and go all over this place. Try to meet as many different people, and see as much as possible.

I did that, for 24 years. In fact , now I am retired we live in our Motorcoach in winter.........in places where it’s warm. ( I do like my fixed cottage overlooking Lake Superior from a Mt. top.)

If money was no object, probably a smaller town or city on the Southern California coast.

San Francisco. I've been there last spring break & it was amazing!

As much as I like New York City(I was just there for the last 2 days), it would be nice to explore the West more. The East Coast is good, but sometimes it just feels too local & you want a short break from it.

I'd love to live in San Francisco/Bay Area temporarily, it's urban with great scenery, an awesome food scene, & great food scene. If cost of living was not as high of a priority.

If I had nothing holding me here, I would leave the country entirely. Europe most likely, but Canada would be considered too.
