This is so ironic, due to the fact that either TX or CA are the states I"ll more likely end up moving to after I graduate later this year.
I would love to visit all of the above cities, but places to live:

1) San Diego: Flawless weather, chill and laid-back, beaches and surfer-vibe, fair amount of government jobs so I'll be able to at least find work somewhere in this otherwise recession
2) Houston: lot of young people to make social connections, jobs more available than most major cities, reasonable cost of living, but mass transit could use a lot of improvement for a city its size
3) Austin: solid job market, LOTS of young people to make social connections, a growing city, and a college vibe (and from the looks of it, a real one, instead of the "High School Rerun" the current college I attend tries to hold up).
4) San Francisco: worldly city w/ plenty of intellectuals, but my fear is that it'll have a lot of the negative attributes of the DC area (particularly the people and racial attitudes)

Cities I would be anxious to move to:
-Los Angeles: Too snobby, class-extremities, anti-mass transit, and air pollution for my taste (if it weren't for those qualities, it would be my first choice), but I'm sure there are places where the negatives are mitigated
-Dallas: I heard it's more snobby and not as friendly than other Texas cities, but I'm willing to visit it myself to see the case
-San Antonio: No offense, but it just seems looks like a place where people go to work and commute home to their families. Seems like there's just no amenities or a flock of young people attracted to that area
-Sacramento: Same as above, but I will give it credit for being one of the most racially harmonious places in the country

As far as the skyline goes there is one new tall building but smaller buildings theres a ton..and the new De Young museum in golden gate park is worth a visit.
And to the person who worried about San Francisco having racial issues,I can tell you that growing up here and living here throughout my adult life I have never had any problems racially.

San Antonio has many hip clubs for youth. SA is really an underground party city with more bars than any other city in Texas. You just have to experience it. You can't judge a book by its cover. Austin has a nice alternative lifestyle. Houston is nice too
