There is some good fishing at the man made lake in my city, Mission Viejo. It is totally man made as it was dug out and totally filled with water. Its nice cause you can swim in it too. People catch some huge fish like what this guy got:
Which state offers the best fishing oppertunities in its man made lakes?
I'll make the argument for my home state of Kentucky. We offer both excellent cold water fisheries in Lake Cumberland, Cave Run Lake, and Lake Herrington (state record Striped Bass and Muskelunge exceeding 50 lbs, trout exceeding 30 lbs) and your traditional warm water Southern Lakes (Kentucky & Barkley Lakes offers incredible Crappie, Bass, and Catfishing). There are also dozens of smaller lakes that have great bass, bluegill, and catfishing.
What thinkest thou?
I think your southern neighbor of Tennessee has you slightly beat. Like Kentucky she has large dammed lakes like L. Cumberland and the Land Between the Lakes. She also lakes RIGHT outside Nashville like J. Percy Priest Lake. There are a number of others including Norris Lake in the mountains.
easy! oklahoma has the most man made lakes and they have some awesome fishing.
lake eufaula is the states largest (man made) 15th largest in the u.s., and is in the top ranks for bass fishing.
You are right - Oklahoma has more lakes than I thought! But you are not alone. Just from looking at a map, Alabama, Kentucky, Tennessee, Virginia and notable for its smaller size, South Carolina, can give Oklahoma a run for the money.

Reason: correction
Northern states= very few reservoirs and far more naturally occurring cold oligotrophic lakes.
Southern states= mostly reservoirs with fewer naturally occurring lakes.
linative---kentucky lake is reportedly the largest manmade lake in the world. it is a beautiful place. so is lake barkley. i absolutely love the cool lakes in eastern tn and ky. they are so beautiful year-round, but unbelievable in the summer and fall. by the way, did ya'll see that minnow that the fellow caught in orange county, ca...bless his heart. my nephew caught a big mouth bass a tad larger than the one pictured, but we made him throw it back. my nephew is 5, but he knows how to fish. lol

Yes Sir.
The Okies and the Tennesseans can agree on this.
Plus, we Okies know how to do a little Noodlin' every now and then.
Guntersville Lake
Wheeler Lake
Wilson Lake
Weiss Lake
Lake Martin
Lewis Smith Lake
Logan Martin Lake
Walter F. George Reservoir/Lake Eufala
Tennessee is good too.
Guntersville Lake is beautiful, that's for sure.
But Tennessee has a whole bunch more man-made lakes than Alabama (or Kentucky):
Barkley
Cheatham
Cherokee
Chickamauga
Chilhowee
Cordell Hull
Dale Hollow
Douglas
Kentucky
Center Hill
Loudon
Nickajack
Normandy
Norris
Ocoee
Old Hickory
Percy Priest
Pickwick
South Holston
Tellico
Tims Ford
Watauga
Watts Bar
Woods
