It's so funny seeing people from the south putting down NYC. This is coming from people who I bet want to move here but can't afford it and probably never will. There's a reason why it's so expensive. Take a look at the NYC forum. Most of the posts are people looking to try and "make it" in NY.

I dont know 2 many northern kids that are between the ages of 21 and 24 that own a house But i can tell you there are alot here in Atlanta.
dont let the new south fool you. atlanta, dallas, houston, miami, tampa, orlando and charlotte are not cheap

here is a example:

i have a friend that lives in downtown charlotte and pays 1000 for a one bed one bath

i have a friend that lives in central nj and pays 1000 for a one bed one bath. His place is 35 minutes from philly, 35 minutes from nyc, 45 minutes from atlantic city and is within 15 minutes of many beaches on the jersey shore

it is your choice. downtown charlotte for 1000? or central nj, which has access to all of the above for a 1000?

But she moved back to NY in 3 months because she didn't like being surrounded by old people and didn't like it down there. As soon as they can move back to the northeast, they're outta there. They don't like it in FL.
What are you talking about? Did you learn reading comprehension at your elite school? Did I say something about your parents?

No, but my parents are just an example of transplants who are forced to move for jobs. The people who move to TX and buy 600,000 houses are those who can't afford it here anymore and can buy big houses there. The people on LI who can't afford their 400,000 house anymore can sell it and take that money and add it to a mortgage of 600,000.

No, Atlanta isn't horrible...neither is NYC, neither is Columbia. If someone is a miserable, bitter, and generally a horrible person, any city will be horrible.

Columbia has many things to do, especially for families and children. It has a zoo, a children's museum, several huge local, state and national parks, a couple of very good museums, etc...it's a state capital for God's sakes! It's just what I stated above - some people just need to complain and be miserable.

Hahaha. What a snot. I hope you aren't talking about me, because I have never put down NYC. And if you are, I make triple your salary and you house value wouldn't even buy half of the land my house in sitting on.
