I'm absolutely not trying to pick a fight, b/c honestly I've never been anywhere in the north enough to have a dog in this fight...I picked the south as my favorite b/c I was born and raised here. But anyway, can I ask why you don't think nascar is nationwide? Just curious.

NASCAR isn't even popular where I'm from-- which is pretty hardcore deep South. I view this more of a Midwest thing -- Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, etc.

Really? You don't think Nascar is primarily a southern cultural phenomenon? While I agree there is some national representation, the lion's share is purely located in the South.

Look at the locations: Phoenix, Richmond(arguable), Darlington, Charlotte(arguable), Dover, Michigan, Kansas, Texas, Atlanta(OK)

These locations are only geographically south or not south at all. Nothing in AL, MS, LA..

Nascar is huge in NC...it's also the home of it. It doesn't interest me though.

I'm confused, you call Kentucky midwest here but posted this on another thread:

and you said: BLUE - TRUE SOUTH
LIGHT BLUE - QUASI-SOUTH
RED - CAJUN COUNTRY (more truth south)

Put a blue dot over Fayetteville,AR. Also, light blue stripes around KY and TN, which are not really as southern as the rest of the map.

I know its a bad map.

I'm sad someone saw that map. It was a mistake on my part to list Kentucky like that. It was worded wrong. Thanks!

(do notice the light blue stripes over KY)
