Missouri hands down. I would love to live in St Louis or Kansas City. Missouri has natural beauty but also has urban paradises. Arkansas only has a few large towns where eating at Olive Garden is considered a big deal and people wouldn't know culture if they saw it. Missouri is by far a more diverse state. Not to say Arkansas doesn't have selling points because it does, but for me MO would work better.
ha ha ha very funny i went to MO. people there seriously need to learn to drive. you can live in Missery or The Natural State. MO wouldn't know class if it was in their face. your turn.

Depends on what part of Missouri. It is a very diverse state, almost like 4 states in one. Southern Missouri might as well be part of Arkansas, but when you go north of I-44 into central Missouri things change pretty rapidly. Go to St. Louis or Kansas City and you would have no idea you were only a couple hours from hillbilly country.
I agree with Chris. Missouri is just too different from region to region. Parts feel like AR and other parts feel urban and lively. Both have really nice hills and lakes, though.
For an urban environment - Missouri hands down
For landscape and relaxed lifestyle - Arkansas slightly. I really like NW Arkansas.
They both have really bad drivers, but for different reasons.
I've lived in Arkansas for 20+ years, and Missouri 6+ years.
I like Missouri better, but it's not perfect.
Missouri's state government is more even, whereas Arkansas' leans heavily towards the Democrats. One party governments are bad. AR is only red during presidential campaigns... sometimes. Republican governors are a rarity. Huckabee was the only one since reconstruction to win re-election.
Missouri has a different feel in each region, so there's something for almost anyone.
Arkansas' culture doesn't change drastically from the Ozarks to the Delta. A little, maybe, but not a whole lot. Southern Missouri and northern Missouri are night and day.
I cringe a little when people refer to Arkansas as the "natural state". I realize it's the motto, but really, Arkansas is anything but natural. Native Arkansawer's aren't exactly a bunch of environmentalists. Quite the opposite. It's almost as bad as when they called themselves the "land of opportunity". HA!
Don't even get me started on that one.
Don't get me wrong. Missouri is no better at being "natural", but at least they don't pretend.
Missouri has a significant edge if you like big cities, but the rural parts are as laid back and down-home as anyplace.
Missouri generally seems to be a bit more affordable, while income is a little higher in most places.

I don't agree, because the majority of Arkansas is not like most of Southern Missouri. The majority of Arkansas is in the Mississippi Delta area, about a quarter of it is in the Ozarks. Most of Southern Missouri is in the Ozarks, and there are very clear cultural differences between the two states. I'd pick Missouri simply because the quality of education and prosperity are much higher, and because it is in the Midwest, whereas Arkansas is in the South. I like the South, but I wouldn't want to live there.
