what "culture" is there? aside from funny dutch names and wack food
"schenectady"
wtf
Funny dutch names and 'wack' food. Wow. (which the same could literally be said for your side of the continent anyway). If that's how you sum it up then you're either very young or you've simply never been here.
NY is the largest media market on this continent, and you're asking me about culture. lol
mexican food > irish, dutch, german, british, jewish food
and i didnt know "popular culture" is what you meant by culture. nice. you can keep the television bragging rights, that aint somethin id ever brag about hahahaha
"news sports tourism"
yikes
West Coast!
Okay Well East has NYC ofcourse, Boston too.
But West Coast has great cities to compete with east coast cities, like San Diego Best Weather in the US, LA Entertainment Capital of the World, San Francisco the most Dense City in the U.S., Seattle, great city.

nyc is #1 density as well.
really i'm not sure why such debate between new york and california... they are more similar cultures and ideologies than the rest of the u.s. compared to them. much more in common than anything in the midwest and south. bos-wash vs. sf-sd... have probably more in common than they'd like to think... at least I see it that way vs. rest of the united states. cultural and business minds of nyc long flocked to sf...same thing happened for la area as well with business/media/etc.rest of the u.s. is a bit different.
