It's probably a handful of east coast posters annoying everyone into voting for the west coast. That or the west coast is actually better.

I dunno, I've never been East of Yellowstone, Wyo. I haven't actually really wanted to go there. After being all over the West, and meeting people from back East and what they say about it, it seems there is no contest. The West kicks ass, open areas, clean air, huge mountains, world class white water rafting, verses what? Huge cities, high taxes and people, tons of people everywhere you go. Not to mention the fast talking and overall fast paced city life.

Man, give me some open mountains and a fat sack* and plant me in the West.

*My friends from Delaware/Atlanta/Buffalo/Connecticut who have found mecca in Idaho inform me the weed is pretty inferior back East.

The east coast has open areas, huge mountains, and white water rafting as well.

Doesn't California take up most of the West Coast?

Not saying the East does not have any plusses, because it does.

Just saying that the West has more, and that's the determining factor for the majority of voters despite the 3:1 East: West ratio evidenced on this board.

This seems to rub East coasters the wrong way, which is totally understandable. I guess I would be a little upset too. It's becoming a pattern on most threads. It's quite common for those with superiority/inferiority complexes, really. You learn to deal with it eventually.

The East Coast's mountains are huge by what standard? That of someone from the East Coast? That of someone from the prairie states? If we're talking about diverse and rugged natural terrain, the East Coast doesn't hold a candle to the West (though of course the East Coast can be more personally appealing for someone). Also, the West Coast is certainly much more than only California.
