Eventhough it isn't a state fair, the Jefferson County Fair in Watertown, NY is the longest running fair in the country, as it's been going on since 1817:http://www.jeffcofair.org/

It's unfortunate I never got a chance to go. I forgot why I didn't while I was going to school at Cortland. I think 2 times I had to work and couldn't, the other year I think I was home on LI since it was over break. Too bad, I was right there too! Wish I had tried harder to go, now that I'm so far from it.

Nobody doubts that you typed "biggest state fair" into google, saw "Texas" in the results, and jumped to conclusions. The *fact* is that Texas's state fair runs significantly longer (a week? 10 days?), so naturally has a higher total attendance. But not by much, and not at all in the average daily attendance department, which is what was being compared.

If a fair is shorter, it should have higher daily attendance. People are trying to get to that fair. To average 125k/day for a month I think is far more incredible.
