I grew up in Cleveland and the term was used extensively. I live in Michigan now and hear it occasionally but not often.

What about the North Coast Music Festival that's every year in Chicago?

People in Chicago do use the term north coast in reference to music. "Nah, this ain't east or west coast sh**. This NORTH COAST sh**!"

What a stupid breakdown. East Coast should include Maine to Florida and South Coast should be replaced with Gulf Coast. North Coast should be called the Great Lakes.
