born and raised in the South, but I don't care for Southern food. I'll eat it, but if there are other options, I'll eat something else. I do like Memphis BBQ though

Pecan pie is good as long as it isn't too sweet.

I like potato salad (my momma makes some mean potato salad) and I absolutely LOVE peach cobbler and red velvet cake. God rest my great aunt's soul, she made some of the best red velvet cake this side of the Mississippi...

I used to eat pickled pig's feet as a kid but haven't had it in so long. I'd probably have a little for nostalgia's sake if it were offered to me but I'm not about to go out looking for it.

Hamhocks and neckbones, yessir. Drop them in a pot of greens--collards, mustard, turnip, I eat 'em all--and you'd swear it came straight down out of heaven.

I really enjoy most southern food (barbeque, fried chicken, cornbread, etc), but I can't stand potato salad and I have no desire to try chitterlings or pig's feet.

Literally, just the smell of cooked chitlins alone is enough to make me start gagging

I've also never been able to bring myself to try the pickled pigs feet!

Default Pickled this and that...

Hey fellow Southerners...

There's been a lot of talk about pickled this and pickled that...but it has never really been a sub-topic. So, ok...I ain't never tried pickled pigs feet...but I LOVE pickled okra! (I know, AlGreen, ol' buddy...this makes you gag, right? )

Watermelon pickles are another thing I associate with my mother and grandmothers making them...but don't have a strong opinion one way or another.

Let's see...another thing I always liked...especially on crackers (no pun intended, dammit)...is "hog head cheese" or "souse meat". Y'all remember...?

Southern foods that I cannot stand are potato salad, slaw (coleslaw), and chitlins.

Also watermelon is mentioned a lot in this thread - but I never liked watermelon to begin with.
