I wonder how many people on this thread have lived for several years in both places? Probably not many... I have. Atlanta has better weather, hands down.. not even a contest. Seattle beats Atlanta in most categories, but not weather. Atlanta is not nearly as hot as reported most times of the year, but it is wet and gray in Seattle year round.
For me once I moved to the pnw I had no desire to ever live back east or in the south. Atlanta's springs are nice but even then it feels too humid and stuffy for my taste. And summers are just unbearable. Upper 80s low 90s with that humidity and hazy skies. Oh and Seattle is not gray year around.

It's been over 10 years since i have lived in Seattle, but I remember it was gray pretty much all year. There are a few days in July that are simply lovely .. blue skies all day, but they are rare. It rains pretty much every day in Seattle, but to be fair, a little known fact is that you do get a few hours of sunshine most days too.
I still pick Atlanta because it isn't nearly as hot as people seem to think it is. There is a considerable difference between north Georgia weather and Flordia, Lousiana or even south Georgia. It's a pretty temperate climate here, with more warm days than cold ones. The weather here is pretty nice, actually.

Atlanta generally gets much better weather than Seattle.
But Seattle generally is a much better city than Atlanta.
So I easily pick Seattle over Atlanta despite Atlanta usually having better weather than Seattle.
This is because I like Seattle as a city and I think Atlanta kind of sucks as a city.
Seattle and Atlanta are both thriving cities, and both are capitals of their regions. Nothing wrong with either as cities. Weather, well, that is more arguable. Depends on what you want. If you like cool summers, but plenty of sun, then Seattle is for you. If you like sunshine evenly distributed throughout the year combined with hot summers, then Atlanta is for you. Beyond weather though, both cities and their suburbs are among the healthiest in the country.

Seattle easily, nothing is worse than heat. Clouds and rain don't make me depressed at all, they are really relief after heat.
