Would argue that San Francisco/Woodside (along with Manhattan/Greenwich) collective IQ is 10X that of Chicago. SF/Woodside/Manhattan/Greenwich boasts some of the world's brightest/most enlightened/$1mm+ per/yr earning populace in the entire world while aspirationals from big midwestern dump universities/Ohio State/community college end up in Chic.

Would also argue that SF boasts the highest QOL on the Western Hemisphere. SF/Woodside is an exclusive club; would hope that CA's current economic collapse/housing crisis will further cleanse unwashed underachievers out of the area and into dumps like Illinois/Arizona/Houston/Podunk as us tax-payers in the top 1% see the poors as nothing more than a great tax burden/waste of space.

Funny, no one who has achieved a lot in life would say the things you say. Your comments are offensive and belittling, and people with class would never carry on like this.

Don't pay him any mind. It's Dementor. He does this in a lot of threads. Anyway, here are some pictures of Chicago. Hoping this will put this silly argument to bed:

Nice Chicago Pics.

San Francisco has been known from time to time to be photogenic as well.

I think they're both great cities, but from a COL standpoint, I would have to choose Chicago. If you earned $100,000 in Chicago, $152,977 would be what you have to earn in San Francisco to live comparably. People like to harp on Chicago weather, but winter isn't 7 months out of the year like people like to exaggerate. Spring, summer, and fall are beautiful.

Yeah, right. Tell it to someone who never benn to Chicago. Winter here is 7 months, from November to May. Only the last few days have been nice, other than this it is still winter. And no, there are is no spring and fall in Chicago or they are so short you barely notice, it is either very hot or very cold here.

Winter is nowhere near 7 months. I get to Chicago often, Dementor - my brother and his family live there. Chicago has four seasons, not two. If you were really living there, you would see the flowers, leaves, blossoms, etc. Hardly winter.

I am in Chicago now, buddy. We have May now and it is still pretty cold and windy. Hardly a spring. I am starting to think that you do not know what spring is....
In Chicago the change from winter to summer happens almost overnight. As a matter of fact Chicago is famous for abrupt temperature changes, as they say here: if you do not like the weather, just wait half hour, it will change...
Winters in Chicago are typical Midwestern winters, cold, loing and sunless. Most of population goes into hybernation, depression, apathy. Chicago becomes zombie town in the winter.

I thought winter was 6 months, nov-april... when it is snowing, it is winter for me, last year it snowed a few weeks into april and even in october of 2007.
There is a joke that there are only 2 seasons in Chicago, winter, and road work.

Yeah mid 70's to low 80's by the end of April is terribly cold as is the mid 70's you've had all week. 60's in March is tough as well

You don't get around much do you? I have heard that same exact saying in every one of the 47 States I have been to regarding the weather there. As well as all over Canada they say the same thing.

You right about one thing at least here, it does tend to be cloudy in the winter. Cold? Not really compared to the rest of the region; Long - Not really. Far from the 7 months you claim. anybody with internet access and half a brain can see you are stretching that one a lot. A quick check on any number of weather sites will disprove that claim.
