Of course, most midsize Southern cities are pretty darn boring. Fayetteville, NC is pretty bad though.

Id pick a suburb over a small town though. We are talking about boring here. Even if you take the parks out of Orlando, they still have a nightlfe scene, a pro sports team, concerts, museums, ect. What does Fayetteville, or Macon have? Flea Markets?

macon is atleast fairly close to Atlanta..abt an hours drive.. so not all that bad.. Some places are hours from anything interesting. Augusta is about 3 hours from the beach.. and 2.5 hrs from Atlanta.. 3.5 hours from the mountains. There is a lake nearby though and one shopping mall.

yeh like here in fl no less but 1.5 hours to a decent beach, 5 hours to a decent city, mountains? hah... ... (atlanta/tampa/new orleans/orlando) all 5 hours away, even good ol birmingham alabama is 6 hours, miami is 8 hours... so pretty much all those...yeah, not going unless it is a special trip. Was looking on a map and almost impossible to find a place farther from anything else in the south. middle of south al, south ga, north fl region is pretty desolate w/ only one interstate running east-west.

Macon may be quite boring...I really don't know. But the Georgia Music Hall of Fame and the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame are both located there, along with a ton of historic preservation, a popular festival, and the Georgia State Fair.

Actually Macon does have some nice architecture. I mean, it's no Savannah or Charleston.. but there are some noteworthy buildings. I like the layout of the downtown.. too bad not more going on down there.
