But then, as one of the other posters pointed out, a lot of what you like depends on whether you are an outdoor person or not. I'm not. So I have no interest in things like you posted pictures of. They are to me, indeed quite boring.

The exception being, I would say a nice BBQ cook out at the creek with lots of beer and cool water and hanging out on your inner tube on a really hot day. That's pretty fun for being outside.

You are so uninformed.

People actually live indoors out here in Arizona. We also have several casinos, live music venues, great restaurants, AND to boot, we have outdoor activities all-year-round including tubing. In addition, we got rid of prohibition in Arizona quite awhile back -

I suggest you get out more. Every state has something to offer; every person on the other hand...

Indiana has some quaint places with covered bridges, a large Amish community, and the Sand Dunes National and State Parks on the shore of Lake Michigan. Not boring.

Arkansas: never been.

Idaho boring? Mountains, skiing, lots of outdoor sports.

I think North Dakota is underrated. The Badlands are The Awesome. Among the other rectangular states, South Dakota has the good geology, Nebraska has Omaha and the Sand Hills, and Kansas City's got some lively urban areas. So my vote for least interesting would go to Iowa for lacking interesting geology, consisting mostly of corn fields, and having a main metropolitan area less interesting than Omaha or Kansas City.

The Badlands go up into North Dakota. Theordore Roosevelt National Park is up there and very cool.

North Dakota/South Dakota:
-Badlands
-Maah Daah Hey trail
-Roosevelt nat'l park
-Miles of backroads! (remember those?)
-Rich history
-Small charming cities, and a quirky attitude to accompany some of the nicest people on earth

Nebraska:
-Niobrara river
-Sandhills
-Pine Ridge
-Wildcat hills

Search for photos of any of the above places/landmarks and get back to me about "uninteresting". Every state in the U.S. has something special to offer anyone, all you have to do is get off of the interstate.

I get out plenty, and have traveled plenty. I just don't dig the great plains that's all. Nothing to get offended about. For what it's worth I've met some of the nicest people in the world in places like Nebraska and Kansas, but for my tastes it's not for me. I love big cities, oceans, mountains, etc. I can see a river or a meadow anywhere.

Every state is interesting imo. Sometimes its not as obvious but a little digging reveals a lot of history and context.

Lock this ignorant negative bashing thread too!

God, some of you need to travel. South Dakota? What a delightful amazing state to travel through when I go out west to visit my brother.

The problem is, a lot of threads consist of people bashing places they never been too before. There are always 8th grade style threads of people bashing places. It is always the same for me to stick up and prove people wrong bashing cities like Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Cleveland, etc.

There is nothing wrong with noting a negative aspect of a place, such as a city that has too much urban sprawl, or a city that has a horrible economy and has to be diversified, etc. But just bashing cities like a middle schooler takes the forum's quality down to people who really want to discuss cities.
