Example a sport event starts at 7 in pacific,this means it will start at 10pm in the east!

I prefer Eastern..
...because news/TV shows/sporting events are on at sensible times which correspond well with work and seasonal activities.
And , in truth, I enjoy watching NFL games in November and December in which the 2nd halves of games are played in complete darkness; it just adds to the excitement..

Here the NFL games start at 1
It would feel different for them to start at 10 a.m.
