Just remember that the people on City-Data only represent a small group of people. The majority preference on this forum is very clear without doing any poll. However, this is not in accordance with in real life how people migrates, and there are various polls online that differ. While the situation for Atlanta is not clear. Miami and Houston clearly have bigger skylines than Pilly.

Construction in Philly the last couple years. Not polished. New. There is more going on in Center City than just powerwashing and polishing. Its estimated that $20 B dollars of construction/ redevelopment is going on in Center City/University City over the past couple years. Heres a splash of what is happening.
Childrens Hospital Philadelphia expansion- $2 B dollars
naval square one of Toll Brothers few recent success stories.
U Penn Expansion
Drexel dormitory
$500 M Art Museum renovation
2 new casinos if the city didnt stonewall would have been $2 B worth of investment, as is there will be 2 scaled down casinos.
The City just swiped one of the wealthiest art galleries in the world from the Philly suburbs(Barnes Foundation) That is being built as we speak. $2 B collection.
Drexel, Penn, Temple, Thomas jefferson Universities are all on major expansion projects.
I'm not saying there isnt alot happening in Atlanta but what I am saying is that you dont have a firm grasp on what is occurring in Center Ciy Philly. To use the word polishing is misguided.
Most of Philly's building are much older than Atlanta. It just makes sense.Atlanta hasexperienced more growth in a short amount of time in the last 30-40 years. Is it not logical that if you are comparing the citiy's skylines that the buldings would reflect that in the desigs of its buildings?I never said Philly was not growing. It is a comparison. If I said Philly has better cultural institution than Atlanta,That would not mean Atlanta has none.all that you showed is nothing in COMPARISON to the growth in Atlanta over 30 years.

Agree. Those pictures are very ordinary and one can easily find similar ones for Atlanta. Now skyline wise, the only edge Pilly has over Atlanta is that it has probably more 3--4 story buildings to fill it up. And because the skyline of Philly is lower than Atlanta (no comparison for buildings over 200m), they are more visible from faraway and appears to feel nicer. In terms of the number and height of tall buildings though, Atlanta wins and will continue to win more. However, it will certainly take more time to eliminate people's stereotypes.

Philly is not all that my friend it funny how people i know from those areas are moving here like migrating birds. Dying to get here to own a house and some land because they cant afford the high overpriced run down homes and apts they offer there. Atlanta is on the same level as philly and can compete against anything, Jobs and economy are a major factory my friend. And these polls represent a tiny bit of the USA population so no one lost any battles my friend, you cant say all americans because these polls arent represented by all americans.

Nobody from Philadelphia is flocking to Atlanta.
Please educate yourself with this great website instead of spreading false propoganda. This is the second attempt at lending a helping hand.
546 people from Philadelphia County moved to Fulton County between 2000-2005
538 people from Fulton County moved to Philadelphia County between 2000-2005.
Thats a net inmigration of 8 people. I wouldnt exactly call that flocking.

You have to be more clear with your commentary. Backtrack to your posts and what you said was Center City Philadelphia growth was stagnant other than some polishing. Which is nonsense unless you consider $20 B dollars worth of new infrastructure in a 5 Sq. mile area"polishing".
I didnt post photos to impress,I could care less, I posted them to educate you that there is more than just polishing going on in center City Philadelphia. I'm not so sure there is/has been more $$$$ being invested in downtown Atlanta than Center City Philadelphia over the past 5 years.
