Default Battle of "number three" US cities: Chicago, SF, DC, Houston or Boston?

All would probably agree that New York and LA are number one and two US cities but who is number three? Is it DC for its political imapct on the planet, Chicago or Houston for their business might, SF for culture or Boston for education?

Please vote and then support your opinion with comments and verifiable data.

Thanks,

Like I said on the duplicate, what about Seattle, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Dallas, and Miami?? And all of these cities are number two cities, in my book.

i would think chicago by far but houston is the 4th largest populated and probably covers the largest area and has the oil business so i am sure they are catching up and of course culturally s.f. and boston have the history. the history of houston is rich too as it is close to where sam houston beat the larger mexican army and once we got texas we also grabbed everything else out west from mexico like that little state called californication. so you wouldn't even have a s.f. or an l.a. without houston first.

If Chicago is not the Second city it is truly the Third:

Let's just look at population:

Chicago: 2.8 million people (237 square miles)
LA: 3.8 million people (498 square miles)

Chicago is WAY denser than LA. But the LA metro still blows Chicago away, so I can live with giving LA the second city.

SF: 800,000 people
Houston: 2.2 million (600 square miles)
Boston: 600,000 people (but 48 square miles!! wow)
DC: 600,000 people

As I started this thread I should not comment but I do believe Chicago is a very strong contender in this poll and will be a tough oponent for DC or SF...

Go cry.

Were tired of trolls confusing people who come to these boards for actual accurate potrayals of cities. If all you want to do is argue then leave.
