to me, it seems as if large american cities, w/ or w/out their metro areas, have problems, real or perceived, regardless of the area of the country in which it is located. i just don't know that any of the cities are looking for areas of commonality for bonding. whomever has the majority, regardless of the part of the country where the city is located, seems to be the group that is likely to abuse its power, either through its elected politicians, civic organizations, government representatives, school systems or school boards, etc. personally, i see a considerable difference in the blacks in boston and the surrounding areas than those in atlanta, regardless of the area of the metro area, w/ the exception of henry county, which seems to be a bit more lacking in solid upper middle class families. too, although those who want to simply say that it is entertainment, i don't think that the black house wives of atlanta has done any good for the perception of a black upper middle class or the phrased that was coined two or so years ago, which was a spin off of the white word for yuppies; however, i just can't remember it.

i really am surprised that respectable blacks in that community hasn't stood up and asked the women on that show to hold back speaking for all or most blacks in their community. the homosexual man, who anchors that late show, which usually gives a run down of what is happening on the show, talks and gives counsel to the women and their over generalizations, yet is one of the major offenders of making blanket generalizations or using stereotypes. nevertheless, my money would be on the truly successful and comfortably well off or wealthy blacks, and their desire to distance themselves from a group of women such as these.

it isn't just the topics they discuss, but the private nature of so many of the topics. that older woman and her mother at the stripper party, the older daughter talking about sugar in her private parts, that older woman discussing her chilld support more viewers to hear, after she has made such a big issue about being a socialite, wealthy, being put out of her house, and that mess of a fashion show. i was told that one of the women had a fund raiser for inner city black girls, which i think brought in about $7000.00. supposedly, these people at the fundraiser were atlanta's cream of the crop. i thought it was shabby to accept an invitation to an affair such as this one, then to be so ignorant as not to purchase something or make an anonymous donation.

the comment made by "ben around" i thought was certainly right on the money, and quickly becoming a thing of the past. it seems this show, and those who are characters on it, love to explode, draw attention to themselves any way possible, loud, profane, and just the very type of individual most of us wish to avoid, regardless of race, creed, or religion. i think that "40 something" blonde headed, wig wearing, nipple bearing, hip swinging, butt bundling, and caked face-painted, cross-eyed looking, cigarette smoking, and wine drinking, broke down, trashy acting female. i think she is fixated and obsessed about sexual body parts. a grown woman who doesn't know the simple procedure of the common practice of circumcision---she is supposedly an lpn. it wouldn't surprise me if she weren't an old drag queen, most likely looking for a part in "priscilla, queen of the desert." maybe they'll open up the old sweet gum head and make her and that girl w/ the tammy faye baker voice headliners. then they can get that big man-shaped he/she person to do some pole dancing, if they can get a heavy duty light pole. it is a messed up bunch.

The stereotype that Boston is a "White" city is a misnomer. White's are actually in the minority in the city. There's a significant Latin American and Black population there.

Non-Hispanic Whites are 47% of the cities pop per the 2010 census. Probably the % he was referring to.

CMSA Areas Boston has 2,000,000 (why stop at MSA?) FINANCIALLY Boston is several levels above Atlanta as far as rankings globally and financially.

They are two different types of urban areas. Boston is urban....Atlanta is suburban in its lay out. They are each culturally significant in their own way.

All those rankings and Atlanta still grows faster than Boston. So Atlanta may be behind Boston but it aint doing bad for itself not one bit.as it still competes with Boston
