I'd include the Pacific Northwest, even though most people don't think of it in the context of the "wild west". Ever hear of the Oregon Trail?

The west starts somewhere in the Great Plains states. Eastern Nebraska and South Dakota are midwestern. Once you get to Rapid City it's definitely a western feel. You actually notice the difference once you cross the Missouri river in SD. You can't have a discussion of the wild west and not include Deadwood.

One must also include Iowa, Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, Minnesota, Oklahoma as well. They have as much history with outlaws, Cowboys, Natives, and old west culture as the states in the poll choices.
