(It could be mid-February on one of the 4 days or whatever of the year where the temp doesn't crack 42 and it would still be heaven. Marty Chavez - for the areas I disagree with him as well as those I agree with him - had it right: "This, my friends, is truly eartly paradise." Well, maybe not for everyone, but for those that "get it"...well...viva ABQ, NM, USA!!!)...

Well, while I love Southwest and am alllllll about their fares / prices, there are a few key caveats:

1. The $69 is ONE-WAY.

Thus, while folks like myself (and likely yourself too trauch!) would LOVE to just do the one way (absolutely no need to return me back here to MKE in my mind), most of us have annoying obstacles to tend to like, oh, I don't know...jobs...houses (or apts)...cars...etc.! Thus, yeah, while it is a great one-way fare, most need round trip.

2. One CAN accomplish round trip for two of the $69s...total of $138. However, that is WITHOUT taxes, fees, etc., etc., etc. It ends up being about $184 or so total - (a round trip of $69 x 2 + fees = $184).

Still a great freaking fare. Especially considering we weren't that long ago in a stretch when a good fare between a mid-sized airport like the Sunport and a mid-sized port like MKE would've been more in the $300 range. So still great. Just not exactly $69.

3. Travel needs to be done on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays, and is first-come, first-served on those fares. So I plugged in some random Tu, W, and Sa, in NOV, and ended up able to protract that $184 round-trip range, but that's how you have to do it.

So its great still, indeed. And its surely worth it for Albuquerque. But it isn't exactly just $69 either.

Go to the southwest airlines website and pick an Alb to Milw. or Milw to Alb flight between November 2nd and Dec 17th.

Just choose a date for departure & arrival. When those come up, there's a link to click on in the "modify your search" box In that box it says, "Flexible travel dates? Use Southwest shortcut to low fairs."

Click on that shortcut link and a calendar will come up showing all of Novemember & December. It will show you the dates where there are $69 fares. I don't see any of the cheap fares for Sundays, but most of the other days have the low fares.

Default Abq

Use to to live in ABQ and now live in San Antonio. Make it to Austin very frequently. First these two cities are only similar in the fact they are artsy (different) and they are set in nice scenic settings.

If you like traffic then you will love Austin. Outdoors is doable in ABQ 365 a year... not in Austin. It is HUMID and 100 plus all summer with your friends the mosquitoes playing nightly. Austin does have nice Live music scene I would choose ABQ and will be back soon, but it comes down to what you like and we are all different.
