Question of the day!! I am a sigle mom to 3 school aged kids and I have very recently become disabled, requiring continous oxygen. I need to find an inexpensive place to live, not too polluted, not high heat and/or high humidity, good schools, good social services, friendly family oriented community. I'd prefer a small city or large town and I'm open to any place that you folks think might be the right fit. I was a nurse, worked my tail off for 20 years and would like to be able to do some kind of volunteer work since I can't work in my field. Thanks guys
Albuquerque has high-heat (the op is looking to get out of Arizona). I think I would recommend you take a look at Salt Lake City, Utah or Denver, Colorado. I might also consider taking a look at Minneapolis, Minnesota. Utah has the best economy and the LDS church will offer you plenty of opportunities to volunteer and they will also be able to offer you plenty of support in return. Salt Lake City is in my opinion the best atmosphere for children.

Since you said you'd prefer a small city or large town, I'll recommend some of the smaller towns in Utah such as Brigham City or Logan.
But how would mountains and high elevations like Denver do with the oxygen problem? Maybe they'd exacerbate it?
