I have been to Tampa, but not San Diego. Just from pics, Tampa seems like the east coast version of San Diego to me. But, that is just my opinion from someone who has never been.

Do you guys think that San Diego and Tampa are similiar or different?

Size, transit, the type of people, culture, density, weather, beaches, amenities, etc.

Compare and contrast the two.

San Diego for me because of the mountains, beaches, & medium sized city with big city amenities.
Downtown SD > Downtown Tampa any day of the week.
I know they have made improvements, but when I stayed there in the late 90s downtown Tampa was a dump and downtown SD was amazing in comparison.

San Diego.

It's got beautiful sunsets, hot women, friendly residents, mountains, lakes, canyons, and hills. Wonderful weather, good downtown, different neighborhoods that fit people of any backround.

What's possibly in Tampa, Florida? The place is sprawl and boring. San Diego wins in each of the categories. Well I don't know about sports but the other things hell yea.
