To this post and to the one remarking that Houston doesn't get much respect either, I agree, and I'm not just speaking for this website; it's in the world in general. It's Texas. Texas doesn't get much respect at all.....I can't stand it. I was born and raised in Texas; it's the best state I've been to(and I've almost been to all of them), and if they want to hate Texas, then they can just go bugger off somewhere else....we can have our 8th largest GDP in the WORLD to ourselves.

Have updated numbers come out? Texas was 13th in '06.

Last I heard, it was 10th or 11th. I thought California was 8th? That's pretty good either way.

Who cares if it's the largest metro in the south? The Dallas-Fort Worth googleplex could have 50 million people and it wouldn't necessarily be any better. By that logic, Mumbai and Jakarta should be among the best cities in the world.
