see I knew it. You are being trisksy again. First off you are only counting seats in Houston Theater district when two miles away in Mid town there are more theaters.
Secondly you are counting venues other than performing arts theaters.
The ones you are counting for Houston don't include the seats for concerts.
Music Hall at Fair Park/Dallas,TX/Built: 1925/Capacity: 3,420
From wikipedia
The building is of Spanish Baroque style with Moorish architectural influences, containing six stair towers capped with cast domes and arcade porches overlooking Fair Park. Air conditioning was added in 1954, and in 1972 the Hall was remodeled again with an expanded lobby and restaurant. In 1999 the theater was refurbished and updated. Because of the spacious nature of the Music Hall, the facility is a nationally recognized venue for Broadway musical touring companies and other large-scale public and private functions.

when you eliminate the movie/concert theaters you are left with less than 5000 seats for the performing arts

It's right in your face and a majority are vaudeville theatres performing arts veneues used for various events as the ones in Houston. San Antonio has more, im not even including Southtown Arts District which has several theatres. I didn't even include one movie theatre, I can if you want. It is over 20,000 for performing arts in downtown.
I didn't include, San Antonio little Theatre, Historic San Pedro Playhouse, The Laurel, the Woodlawn, Sunken Theatres in Midtown. I did however forget the Cameo and you can possibly count Sunset Station in St. paul Square, but i'll leave that one out.

you can't compare artist venues for san antonio and only include play and opera houses for Houston, and only in the theater district
Houston has more dance companies, it's a bigger city, but this is about cultural venues, structures made for performing arts, vaudeville theatres etc like the ones in the photos. San Antonio has more venues than Houston easily. San Antonio's Art scene is very strong and getting bigger. Houston is almost twice the size, so overall it's art scene is bigger.
lol San Antonio's art scene is smaller than both Houston and Dallas but, it has cultural venues galore.
