From the other thread about 1990 vs. 2010, there has been a lot mention about how the crime rate is much lower now, especially in NYC and LA. Back then, crime was a national problem. Nowadays, it appears do only be a problem in a few cities, such as Atlanta, Detroit, Baltimore, New Orleans, and a few others. Atlanta was on an improving track in the late 90's/early 00's, but now the crime rate appears to be back like it was pre-1996. Are there any other cities that haven't improved since back then, or have but recently returned to those days? Not just in crime, but overall. How about Philly, Baltimore, or D.C.?

I can only agree with Detroit and Maybe New Orleans (because of Katrina).

I would also had Cleveland and Cincinatti to the list. Other than that, most cities have improved in their own ways.

I'll offer up Gary Indiana. If it keeps getting smaller, it won't even be a city any more. It had almost 180,000 in 1960 and has been in decline ever since. It's down to under 100,000 in population. I could say more about it but I am going to try and be nice.
