They have a lot in common in their humble beginnings, but the Georgia colony was formed by English debt prisoners and North Carolina was the less affluent very indepentent Virginia citizens. I thought the population estimates on the third website was very interesting.
I gotta go with GA on this one. One thing I like about Georgia is Atlanta and Savannah. NC most unique city is Wimington and it doesn't compare to Savannah at all. Charlotte is nice, but compared to Atlanta it feels just as big as Marietta which is a surburb of Atlanta.

I agree, but...
NC has other unique cities (i.e. Asheville, Chapel Hill, Winston-Salem, Hickory, Salisbury, etc.)
Georgia is more than just Atlanta and Savannah too (i.e. Athens, Macon, Augusta, Columbus, Rome, etc.)

True about GA. However, The debtors that came to the colony were a small part of the early population. The much larger majority of early settlers into GA were land grantees from VA, NC and SC (my family included).
I would choose Georgia. Although Georgia is a red state, the state itself is beautiful. Like some have mentioned, we have other gems in this state besides Savannah and Atlanta. There is also Macon, Augusta, Athens, and so on.
I have been to North Carolina and happen to like the state; however, IN MY OPINION Georgia tops this poll for me.
Georgia, because it has Atlanta... there isn't anywhere in NC that interests me as a place to live/work/play. I've been to Charlotte a few times and didn't see what the big deal was... and I don't like college towns so... NC is out.
If that were truly the case, then the city of Marietta would be larger than the city of Atlanta. This is just ridiculous.
I think he was saying that Charlotte feels as small as Marietta when you compare it to Atlanta. I see what he is saying. I was born and raised in Greensboro, NC and use to think that Charlotte was huge. Since I've been in Atlanta, Charlotte seem much smaller now when I visit. Charlotte is a big city with a lot of things to offer though.
