Which cities could be called the "Paris", "Rome" and "Venice" of its respective regions in the USA.
There are many places in the world known as the "Paris", "Rome" and "Venice" of its respective regions. Which cities in the USA do you think can be called the "Paris", "Rome", and "Venice" of its respective USA regions?

Wait, I thought Chicago was like Paris, i.e., Paris on the Prairie? Sister city and all.
Maybe there's a Paris for everywhere, i.e., Paris of the East Coast is Washington, D.C., Paris of the Bayou- New Orleans, Paris of Kansas- Salina, Paris of Motown- Detroit, Paris of Hilton Head-- Paris, Hilton.
Paris- Chicago or DC
Venice- probably San Antonio
Rome- Detroit (ruins)
Stockholm- Minneapolis
Rotterdam-- Newport News
Valencia- Miami

Okay, kinda unrelated, But Rome made me think of it and I feel that for the ancients:
DC-Rome
Philly-Greece
Boston-Egypt
(the ancient civilizations and not their modern equivalents (in which case Boston is NOT at all like egypt))
mostly cuz of chronology.
Dont take too seriously.

I agree with most of those, especially Chicago and Detroit. I would match Minneapolis with Helsinki, due to the large Finnish population (and technology). Cincinnati could be matched with Frankfurt, due to its riverfront and hilly/valley topography. For London, New York would be the best match, and Boston for Dublin. Overall, European cities are best matched with Midwest and Northeast cities.

DC and Paris are obvious, but I'm struggling with the Paris/Chicago comparison. Someone please explain

Chicago could be like Paris, but Kansas City,MO is often described as "Paris of the Plains".

The Rome of the South...Rome, Georgia is built on seven hills with a river running between them - as is Rome, Italy - thus the inspiration for its name. In 1928, Italian premier Benito Mussolini sent a block of marble from the ancient Roman Forum inscribed "From Old Rome to New Rome". Then in 1929, Mussolini again honored Rome with a bronze replica of the sculpture of Romulus and Remus nursing from the Capitoline Wolf.
