Every hear of a suburb? Maybe not. Florida considers everything, even places with 15 people, to be "cities". Yes, Naples is no city either.

Oh Please. That must only be Florida that does that? I've been to many small towns around the nation that call themselfs "cities". Its not just Florida . Its annoying enough that you have to bash Florida on a daily basis because you are miserable, its worse when you bash it for things that are not unique to Florida alone.

I wish that everyone that has commented in this thread could meet in person to discuss this topic. It would be much more helpful, more likely to be on point, and undoubtedly more respectful - or so I would hope.

As for my reasons for living here - this is where I'm from. Does one need more reason than that? Obviously it is much more than that, but that's a big part of it. I wish to see my home prosper. For years, young adults have fled Mississippi to other states, because of what many of you have already stated - higher salaries, entertainment options, etc. But for every person that leaves, the chance for Mississippi to progress gets weaker and weaker.

I have a passion to help Jackson and Mississippi reach its fullest potential, and we are capable and deserving. After high school and after college, I saw classmates who wanted nothing more than to leave town - our best and brightest leave because they think the grass is greener elsewhere, taking with them their talent, creativity, and productivity. Imagine if the opposite happened. We need our talented to cultivate ideas HERE! I am not stuck here, as so many seem to believe. Somebody had to stay and fight. And if not me, then who? And if not now, when? I'll be the sacrificial lamb so that my kids can have a better Jackson than me and want to stay.

LOL, that is so true. Florida considers everything a city. They call a subdivision like Palm Coast a city.

I think these warm weather/sun worshipers would walk around stark naked if allowed. I supoose they haven't evolved much from when our ancestors started walking upright.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA...oh, wait a minute...the city of Palm Coast has a mayor and 5-member city council with a population of 68,000. It provides services such as fire and police protection, street construction and maintenance, sewer and garbage collection, parks and recreation facilities, etc. Dang! That sounds like a city!
