Yeah I'd better slow down a bit. I think we're referring to different things: I was talking about US News and World Report rankings that score Tech as a Tier 3 school (not Tier 4, my bad). But there is some kind of "Tier One" research status that Tech is aiming for; that's probably what you were referring to.
IMO not gonna be a true Tier 1 if Tech has <$400M in endowment for a school of its size. And besides it's always fun to bash the tortilla-thowers.
Haha...The tortilla throwing was before my time. A few stupid college kids can make the whole city look bad sometimes. Whether you like them or not, Tech is growing in prestige, which is very beneficial for Lubbock.
