There are no ghettos here!" I guess they've never been to the south and east side. Plus when I go visit relatives they say things like "Are there gangs there? There are hoods?" Which is strange because on the internet I get the opposite reaction.
Its not that I don't like it, it is just that it was a major disappointment and didn't live up to anything that people told me about it, and it didn't seem as fun living there as it was visiting.

And they probably say there are no ghettos there because huge swaths of the city is ghetto. You mention the south and the east side? What about the west (arguably worst than the east) and the north central side? I lived on woodlawn which was filled with crackpipe mines. My roommate were always finding those things in the sidewalks

Miami is, of-course the most interesting city in my opinion but Tampa\ Orlando and Jacksonville are less influential than the 3 or 4 major cities in Texas. Florida is mainly a tourist state. Texas is a commercial state.
you must not know much about florida

I would not say Shlitterbahn is world class. It may be the number one water park in the US, but not world class.

When I think of World Class I think of the Disney parks, Sea World San Diego, Busch Gardens Tampa, that's about it.

Six flags is a dime a dozen theme park. Far from world class.

I have never heard of Morgan's wonderland

Edit: Wikipedia says: The park has a carousel, an 8 acres (3.2 ha) lake, off-road vehicles, a miniature train decorated to appear like it is from the 1930s, a sand circle play area, swings, and "playscapes."

Sounds like San Antonio type of world class to me.

Well the people I know happen to live in extremely nice areas as opposed to where they came from. No people were asking me like "Are you serious? There are no ghettos there". A friend from Cleveland had a time arguing with me that there were no ghettos in San Antonio. But as much as people who don't know the city well are going to dispute with me, large portions of San Antonio have a ghetto vibe to me.

I agree because Orlando proper goes un-noticed by everyone unless you've lived in Orlando. I would ask people all the time if they had been to downtown Orlando on their trip as I delivered them pizza or if they went into the city? They would always give me a reacton like, "I thought this was Orlando?" and I would say, "No, Orlando is actually about 14 miles away from here we are in Lake Buena Vista right now"

I don't know a lot about Florida or Texas for that matter but I have had the pleasure of vacationing in Florida several times. Based on what I have read, it seems Texas is both more influential and prosperous but I could very well be wrong. Can you correct or enlighten me?

It does to me too. If you live in Alamo Heights there really is no need to venture far. That area has just about everything you need. Same for large portions of 1604. But if they live in the City of San Antonio then they would know what you mean. East, west, north, south, it is all ghetto. Even parts of downtown too

I live on the Northwest side and I have never had the problems you have. Yikes! But aside from what? Stone Oak, Helotes, Boerne, Alamo Heights, most of the Northwest...it's hard to tell the good and bad. Actually I think most of the north side is okay. But isn't the SeaWorld and Westover hills on the west side? That's why I thought some of the west was okay.
