Rural Michigan (especially the west side of the state) has a speech pattern that I wouldn't confuse with anywhere else. Here's a good example:
While I agree with your California comment (they have a really distinct accent), I still don't hear the accent from those B-93 people. They sound like they could be from anywhere in the Northern U.S. I don't see how you could tell they were from Michigan just by their speech. I don't think there is a Michigan accent, but then I'm from rural West Michigan so maybe I have the "accent" too.
Aren't you from Michigan? Why do you think we have a strong accent?

They definitely have an accent.
Personally I really like the Jersey accent (like on the TLC show Cake Boss). I didn't know people actually talked like that! I also really like the Minnesooooota accent.
But my "best" (favorite) accent would have to be the old fashioned rural Western drawl. I loooove love love that. You only really hear it from the old-timers.
The Great Lakes accent with all the weird vowels drives me crazy. That's about the only American accent I really can't stand.
I HATE the NYC/NJ accent. My personal fav: French.
Don't you have a NY accent since you're from here? Also, the NJ accent can't really be lumped with downstate NY. I think they have a different sort of accent.
