What state/city/region in the US do you think has the best accent?

I'm a big fan of our Midwestern non-accent.
I also like the Minnesota/North Dakota accent. Ya, you betcha!

I'm not a Delaware native, but have found the native DE accent quite pleasant and neutral since moving here. Unfortunately, we also have lots of folk here from SE PA and NJ who do not have nice accents in my subjective opinion. The native, true DE accent sounds neither Northern nor Southern. It's a more open sound, however, than most Midwestern accents and vowels/diphthongs are a bit more drawn out (but not extremely so).

The 'best accent' is in the ear of the listener. What one finds grating, another will find soothing.
I grew up with my older relatives having accents from New York, and currently have relatives that sport the Boston accent and slight Chicago accents, so all of those accents, for me, are accents I like to hear, especially the New Yorkers. I was watching the news the other day with my mom when I was visiting her, and they had an older guy on there talking with a strong nyc accent, and we both turned to each other and said at the same time 'I love that'.
That being said, I have a good friend from the south, the above mentioned accents drive her batty, and she loves a nice Carolina drawl, which, I have to admit isn't my favorite accent, but that is where she is from, and it brings back fond memories for her ... so more power to her.
