Default Most underrated region in the U.S.

What do you think the most underrated region in the US is? I think that it is the Midwest, it has great cities, great activities, great harvesting, and some of the best hidden gems in the US.

In reality maybe. On this forum though, Midwest is overrated while Sun Belt is underrated. From my own experience living here, cities in Midwest are not that urban and activity-oriented as most people try to sell here. Most downtowns in Midwest are like or becoming like the Sun Belt downtowns, with less growth.

The Southeast, hands down, without question. Some of the grotesque ignorance displayed on this forum proves that every single day...

People belittle Phoenix because of its perceived sprawl and how its developed.

People belittle the south for that PLUS all sorts of very insulting stereotypes that I wont repeat.

I have had folks question moving to South Carolina because they were afraid of the "racial climate" of the state. They had NEVER stepped foot in SC, but they were already convinced SC was not for them. Need I say more?

The Southeast wins this thread hands down. At least the stereotypes associated with the Plains States are somewhat true. I have been to the plains and there is VERY little human population in that region. The region has wonderful natural beauty though.
