St. Louis I think. We are about as close to geographically centrally located as you can get.

St Louis is a fine city. But what makes it attractive as far as proximity to other cities and attractions. Both natural and man-made?

Atlanta:

-Centrally located, but far enough from other influential cities to where it dosen't have to compete.

-Located amongst nice hills and a lush forest and only 5 hours away from the ocean (Living in TX, 5hrs is a breeze! lol)

-Mother nature not being a big issue, occasional tornado threats, maybe gust and heavy rains from hurricanes, but that's it.

Chi-town wins this hands down. Heck, that's the sole reason why it is the nation's second-largest city.

Yeah.

This is the best location in North America. On the Canadian side you have Quebec, Montreal, Ottowa, and Toronto. On the US side you have Boston, Philadelphia, New York, and Washington. They even match up well.

Ottowa - Washington (Capitals)
Quebec - Boston (Historic, Pseudo-European cities)
Toronto - New York (Largest and most significant cities)
Montreal - Philadelphia (Similar size, but not much else. Honestly this one was just process of elimination.)

An ideal place would be in the focal point of this.

Most cities are what they are because of their location. Maybe there is a flaw in my logic, but it seems that the larger a city is, the better its location is. There's a reason NYC is the nation's largest city. It's a good natural harbor, near many natural resources, some natural beauty, and it's in the middle of the Bos-Wash corridor.

You are right for the most part. Places like Phoenix defy this in modern terms, but it had to make sense at the time.

I think those modern terms are what we're judging by here, though. "What city's location is best today," I guess.
