That TX rap is garbage - no talent - no lyrics - just bouncy music for ghettos. Sorry.
this is lyricism...
"I'm on a Mission, that nigg*z say is Impossible
But when I swing my swords they all choppable
I be the body dropper, the heartbeat stopper
Child educator, plus head amputator
Cause nigg*z styles are old like Mark 5 sneakers
Lyrics are weak, like clock radio speakers"

I agree completely - Chino XL, Redman, Lords of the Underground... throw NYC in there and you got WU Tang, ATCQ, Kool G Rap, Big Daddy Kane, Rakim, Nas - these kids think good hip hop is what the city of Houston or Atlanta plays (only local mc's) on the radio - it's all garbage.

New York has its share of crap on the radio to these days. It's a industy and mainstream thing. Not a regional thing. There were plenty of great artists in Houston and Atlanta in the old days but they wouldn't get any proper exposure because they were not from the east coast and later the west coast. Unfortunately for the south by the time they started being accepted mainstream the industry was already comercialized and raped. If southern artists were given a chance back when standards in the industry were actually high there would be just as many good southern artists people know about as those classic NY'ers.
You keep comparing the old time NY artists to newer mainstream southern artists but please tell me a mainstream new yorker that has come out in the past five years who is very good at all? Just as easily as you compare Rakim to Soulja Boy I can compare the Geto Boys to MIMS.
