They don't call it the second city because it's number one. (and yes i know this referes to the fire and the city's revitalization following it) NYC is on its on level.

I'll say NYC by a slight margin. It can be too much for some people, and possibly even me if I lived there long enough. Maybe Chicago is like NYC Light?

No Chicago is Chicago... Philadelphia is more like NYC light.

That is very true, the feel of Philadelphia is more like NYC. Chicago has a totally different midwestern feel, similar to what you would find in cities like Milwaukee.
