There is a "city vs. city" forum.
Should be posted there.

It's funny, because before this, it was all gloom & doom in the Pittsburgh forum. I think it's a lovely town, and I personally like the style of a lot of the stores.. very old school, but I can't understand why so many of its residents have to be so depressive?

So move there. Really who cares, most of love this city and could care less what a British magazine says. If you need reassurance on where to live then I guess you found your place.

Take it from me, a Pittsburgher that is moving to the NYC area, that things aren't that great here. Pittsburgh is a decent city, but you are limited in different categories here.

To the OP: Pittsburgh is a nice city; I've been there. But "blows NYC away?" Whatever it is you've been smoking, you shouldn't come to C-D without offering to share it with everyone else!

Even I'm a true Pittsburgher thru and thru, who's lived in NYC for 10yrs and I'm not going to say Pittsburgh blows NYC away....To be honest the 2 cities plays to different people....

However I have noticed alot of NY'er moving to Pittsburgh, because of the easier cost of living and not being overwhelmed with the crowdness of NY, wanting to start families, but still retaining alot of the NY-Like amenities.

People want to keep harping on Pittsburgh losing population, but you dont go from losing 10-15k residents to gaining 10-15k over night...The fact that Pittsburgh only lost 1200 people during this last decade speaks for itself that, Pittsburgh as started to retain its population.

But NY is in a whole nother world

Can you elaborate on this - "but you are limited in different categories"? I'm just curious what you mean.
