oh ok SF is not a world class city ok forget what i said

GaWC - The World According to GaWC 2008

for a city with about 700k residents look at its ranking amongst the world's best cities... houston has almost 3 times the population and more land area than SF.. more "fortune 500 companies"? irrelevant
and San Jose isn't "silicon valley" by itself.. silicon valley includes mountain view, redwood city, palo alto, cupertino, mipitas, santa clara, sunnyvale etc. all of these cities are in the San Francisco Bay Area, not the "san jose bay area"

SF and houston are not comparable on any level.

Houston will reach 3 million (city population) long before Boston and San Fran reaches 1 million. And yes, I know there is a HUGE difference in the land area of Houston vs. the other two. I say, so what. The south is rising, and soon Houston, Atlanta, and Dallas will make cities like San Fran and Boston look like ghost towns. The average Joe will continue to move to places he can afford. Those places are in the south. PERIOD!

Houston hands down! Next topic.

What makes you think this country's high-tech leader and bio-tech leaders are going to all of a sudden empty out? Boston's the #3 financial city in the country. San Francisco is the financial capital of the West. Both are loaded with world-class institutions of higher learning. While they're not growing like a Sun Belt city, they're both slowly growing or at least keeping population.

I agree, Houston is a much better city

San Fran is nothing more than a bunch of rich elites mixed in with a ton of homeless drug addicts

All the good education and tech companies are not even in the city

Wow dude, really? You're going to paint that thick of a brush on that size of a city?

Ok, here's a quick assessment of Houston: Either you're a rich ultra-conservative Bible thumper wearing a cowboy hat and driving a hummer, or you're a poor black/Mexican running meth and killing people. Hey, you may be on to something! Stereotyping massive populations is fun!

lol ok
houston is full of illegals and fat asses walking around bored to death. my friend moved to houston from brooklyn, and everytime i talk to him he's always whining about how boring it is and how the only thing people his age do there is go to the "galleria"
the only positive thing he's ever said about that place is "rent is cheap." yea, that's a fantastic city alright.

Hey, I realize that there are some real SF "homers" on this board. I am not a resident of any of these cities so I am unbiased. I was just showing how dumb that other guys portryal was. Of course SF is not that bad, but for someone to say that any one of these cities is really more important than the others is completely ridiculous

You would have loved my funny stereotype of Boston by the way
