Just curious, In your city whhats the BEST neighborhood? If you have pics that will be awesome and please post them. Please try not to put your cities Downtown as the best Neighborhood. I really want this to be residential areas only and not another one of those "My cities downtown is better! Look at this tall building." or whatever.

I'll start off:

For Boston, Beacon Hill

Not sure if what the criteria for "best" would be, but my specific favorites are Franklin Village and Los Feliz Village. Lots of locally-owned or boutique stores, good restaurants, lots of tree-lined streets and both are relatively close to subway stations. The Upright Citizen's Brigade Theater in Franklin Village is a deal-maker for me. Wish I had some pictures.

I really like Central Hollywood / East Hollywood in general, but that is more of a "district" than a "neighborhood" - if that makes sense.

I would say there are three neighborhoods in Philadelphia that could be called the "best" or "most desirable" neighborhood in the city.

Society Hill, Rittenhouse Square and Chestnut Hill

Society Hill in Center City Philadelphia

Society hill, Philadelphia, United States

Society Hill (Philadelphia, PA) Homes for Sale + Society Hill (Philadelphia, PA) Real Estate Agents

Rittenhouse Square in Center City Philadelphia
Fitler Square - The Salas Team

Rittenhouse Square, Philadelphia - NabeWise, neighborhoods revealed

Chestnut Hill in Northwest Philadelphia

Chestnut Hill Apartments from The Philadelphia Apartment Company

Deciding between Philly, Baltimore, Hartford, Richmond, Cleveland and Raleigh-Durham.

In my hometown of Alexandria, Va. the most interesting neighborhood (and one of the nicest) is the Old Town section along the Potomac river. Historic town houses and a busy strip (King St.) with shops and restaurants. And still a few joints with live music. Also nice is Rosemont, a neighborhood of older single family homes and tree lined streets. Honorable mention goes to Del Ray, a neighborhood of small single family homes and row houses.

I say Strathmore due to the views and the park, but there are others that rival it. Welcome to Strathmore By The Park, Syracuse, New York

Probably the cluster of neighborhoods that are Prospect Heights, Fort Greene, and Clinton Hill in Brooklyn. Generally wonderful architecture all around, and well-served by amenities and green space.

But Savannah's downtown Historic District "IS" our "best neighborhood" -- a true live, work and play utopia!

Close second would be Ardsley Park:l

Or perhaps Isle of Hope, priciest real estate in Savannah:
