I have lived in both places...

The one thing that Syracuse doesn't include in their Chamber of Commerce's relocation package is that it is the least sunniest place in the United States - 80 days average of sunshine a year - no lie! Seasonal - I think they are about the same, Syracuse has 6 months of Winter and Huntsville has 6 months of summer with a short spurt of the other seasons respectively. Although Syracuse gets lots of snow during the winter including lake effect, they are very well equipment to remove the snow and sand/salt the roads.

I loved upstate NY as a whole. Comparing Syracuse to Huntsville is rather odd. Syracuse is pretty much a University town and SU has a better reputation than UAH. It is known for Law and Medical in the area.

Huntsville is better for raising a family and has better economic opportunities.

That is a lie.

Syracuse is the 26th cloudiest Metropolitan area in the US.

Cloudiest Cities in the US

Well known cities like Montreal, Quebec City, Vancouver, Portland OR and Seattle are all cloudier than Syracuse.

A lie - based on a compilation by, Who Else? Syracuse - bull crap! They wouldn't have put out a chart like that unless they were in fact the least sunniest area outside of Alaska. Crap!

Here is another map showing Syracuse at number 18 - I am sure upon futher research I could find one with Sryacuse at number 1. I guess with any statistics it all derives from the methods... which aren't revealed in most cases. I withdraw my statement about the Least sunniest and state - one of the least Sunniest.

Also, for diverse industry, Huntsville has it hands down!
