In any case, something is amiss. I wonder why this is happening.
I think the main reason is that people simply can't sell their homes, or get financing.

I also think the word is out that we aren't creating thousands and thousands of jobs like we used to. This recession has been brutal here, much worse than the dot com collapse. We lost about 90,000 jobs then, this time it's 130,000!

Well 82 million does sound like a lot, however if you think about it the land between the Bay Area and LA (think hwy 5) is really not developed so we do have room for more people (not enough water though!). So if we did have an overflow of people I could see more people moving into the valley. However that could effect all the farms out in the valley.

That's where the Census Bureau places them.

No, it's not.

Well KS yes, but I mentioned it because MO was part of south while KS wasn't.

This report was issued in early 2006. I expect that many of the assumptions now require minor, perhaps major, tweaking (such as the potential bankruptcy of CA, housing meltdowns in AZ, FL and other places, etc.). I wouldn't place any confidence in the projections.

These "projections" were issued by FAIRUS, an ultra right-wing, vehemently anti-immigration (and some have claimed racist) political action and lobbying group. The report was intended to serve as a scare tactic in order to "show" how the U.S. *would* look in 2050 if --- in FAIRUS's extremely partisan view --- current immigration levels to the U.S. are not halted or severely cut. Anyone who takes these "projections" as serious demographic data is truly gullible and uninformed at best, or just plain delusional and ignorant at worst.
