You will see more spring breakers on Florida beaches than TX that would be the last place I would think of to go for a beach getaway.. Florida all day..
Not for those that live in surrounding states & the central region of the country. They flock to the beaches of Southern Texas every year like clock work.
I find it perplexing that when certain people hear the word "New York", the first thing they would think is "beach." I guess these people have never heard of Manhattan, Broadway, Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building, etc?
seems to me the states that would identify the most closely with the beach would be Florida, Hawaii, and maybe SC and California.
Another for Birding, which is the criteria NJ's beach won for, and I don't even know what birding is...
Haa
It means Bird watching. I believe Cape May has the widest range of bird species than any other beach... Actually I think NJ in general is THE place for bird watcher. De Korte Park in the Meadowlands, The Great Piece Meadows, Kearny Marsh, etc. Any wetland pretty much.
I bit off topic, but anything to give NJ some credit is my forte
Being near a city of 8million people helps. Most of them have no other choice but to go to Jones Beach, not that it's a bad beach, I'm sure it's fun, but I think it has most to do with it's proximity to NYC.

There are like 50 beaches to choose from in the area. It's just one of the most popular And I regularly see tourists there.

I knew it was bird watching! I just had a feeling!! But I didn't want to say it and sound like an idiot, so I just went with the "I don't know exactly" option!
Haha thanks! So I now know if I want to go bird watching, I can hit up New Jersey for that!
Yeah South Texas is a HUGE Spring Break haven. NOT just for Texans, MTV was there one year.
