Your generalizations are asinine. Yes, Philly has a larger population living in poverty than San Francisco but Philly and its metro also have some of the wealthiest zip codes in the country as well as having many middle-class areas. Do you realize that the 3rd poorest county in the country (pop.over 250,000) is located in New York City? Would you describe NYC as just a "run down ghetto"?

Lefty777 is not from here because he's calling SF "Frisco". We don't do that.

Oh yeah, let's make declarations about the entire population of a city with 800,000+ residents based on the comments of one immature poster on C-D and a television show on Comedy Central.

You are once again My first post was more than fair as stated...San Francisco got first billing for thread title, Poll options and first pictures etc. in my first post.

You are trying to I hear no arguments or emperical data or pictures...from some posters...only insults and innuendo. You know all 800,000 residents; they don't do that...OMG!

Do you know how many times people on this forum have called my home, LA the following:

-a third world cesspool
-an over glorified suburb devoid of culture; not a “real city”
-a city full of fake, plastic, superficial morons

There are tons of immature posters on this forum and they really bring down the atmosphere. So I agree with you. However, when so-and-so from St. Louis says makes an ignorant comment, that tells you something about that particular poster, not the city of St. Louis or where ever they are from. That’s the point I was making.

It has Golden Gate Park and those stunning Bridges. It is our about our densest city with great weather and various ethnic groups. The skyline is pretty nice also. see... File:SF From Marin Highlands3.jpg - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Also San Francisco is more liberal and I could only find these pictures. Feel free to post better pictures.

Philadelphia has a river running through it and complete ocean access..it also is still a vital manufacturing center. The city has about 1,400,000 people and a metropolitan area around 5.8 million people. It's economy(GDP) ranks 9th in the world. It has many pocket parks downtown and Fairmount Park...one of the nation's largest.(city parks) It too is a dense city, but not as dense as San Francisco. I has a tolerable 4 season climate, which many people prefer. It too has many ethnic groups and a good skyline. The city's center is a great asset and is essentially a more manageable Manhattan; one can walk center city easily.

San Francisco has that "West" coast feel; while Philadelphia has a Northeast feel to it and the city is older and filled with history. To see Philadelphia check... File:GardenStreetBridgeSchuylkillRiverSkylinePhila delphiaPennsylvania.jpg - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia These are the only pictures I could find...Feel free to post your own.

I love both cities and I grew up in Pennsylvania; so I am a bit biased. I would call it a draw but center city Philadelphia is wonderful; so, by a hair I vote for Philadelphia.
Since my opening post was civil; can we keep the debate that way. State your case tactifully...with statistics or pictures...and of course MATURE opinions are welcome. Please debate each city's pros and cons!
